The balanced rotating assembly (typically includes crankshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, balancer, and flexplate) featured in this engine. 3.480 stroke steel crank. 5.7 forged rods with ARP bolts. 10.2 to 1 compression Forged pistons. More special features of this engine include. 480HP version will require a 3000 stall speed torque converter. It is possible to build this engine with a smaller cam so you can use a smaller or stock stall speed torque converter to have a smoother idle but it will not make as much power. The 480HP version does have a high rise intake manifold so you need to check how much room you have between air cleaner and hood to make sure you have room for the high rise intake. In some cases you can go to a low profile air cleaner to give you more room. With a High rise intake this engine does not fit applications where hood clearance is a issue such as stock Corvette hoods, Camaro or Chevelle stock hoods. We can supply you a low profile air cleaner at a additional charge. We can supply you with a higher stall speed torque converter at a additional charge. A 3000 stall speed is recommended. You need to run pump premium 91 octane fuel. Do you have room for a high rise intake manifold? This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, Chrome dipstick with Chrome tube, Chrome timing cover with Chevy Bow Tie stamped in center to match valve covers, harmonic balancer, Chrome valve covers with Bow Tie stamped in them to match timing cover, and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold.
